Background

I was born in Pittenweem in the East Neuk of Fife, and trained at Edinburgh College of Art. I was elected RSW in 2001.

Having lived and worked on an otherwise uninhabited island in Strangford Lough, Northern Ireland for thirteen years, I recently moved back to Scotland with my husband, writer Michael Faulkner, and set up a studio on the shores of Loch Awe, in Argyll.

Strangford Lough, the west coast of Scotland and the East Neuk of Fife are primary sources of inspiration for my semi-abstracted paintings, and my aim is to capture my emotional response to the landscape using form and colour and to evoke, hopefully, a similar response in the viewer.

My work is shown in galleries throughout the UK.
