Lynn McGregor was born in Pittenweem in the East Neuk of Fife, and trained at Edinburgh College of Art. Having lived and worked on an otherwise uninhabited island in Strangford Lough, Northern Ireland for thirteen years, she recently moved back to Scotland with her husband, writer Michael Faulkner and has set up a studio on the shores of Loch Awe, in Argyll. The landscape of Strangford Lough, the west coast of Scotland and the East Neuk of Fife are primary sources of inspiration for her work. Lynn was elected RSW in 2001. Her semi-abstract landscapes are shown in galleries throughout the UK.
